The Vulnerable Roadway User (VRU) Task Team

The Vulnerable Roadway User (VRU) Task Team focuses on reducing serious and fatal injury crashes for pedestrians, bicyclists, scooter riders, etc. using a Safe System approach. The team brings together stakeholders from state agencies, local governments, public health, advocacy groups, private consultants, etc. to develop strategies and discuss initiatives for reducing VRU crashes. 

 

Current Projects: The VRU Task Team is the steering committee for the statewide Rural Active Transportation Plan (ATP) being developed by GDOT which is currently in development. It will also be the steering committee for the future statewide Urban ATP.

Upcoming Meetings: Virtual meetings are held every 1st Thursday of the month from 11am-12pm. The October meeting will be held as a hybrid meeting at the Bike-Walk-Live summit in Columbus, GA from 10/02-10/04 (time TBD).
