The Georgia Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Center strives to be the online clearinghouse for information regarding safety laws, events, suggestions, and tips for bicyclists and pedestrians around the state. Working with our safety partners, both in government and the local community at large, it is hoped that this site will be comprehensive resource to educate Georgians on bicycle and pedestrian issues. In doing so, we can all learn how to make the right choices whether walking or biking ourselves or while sharing the road while in other forms of transportation.
Bicycle & Pedestrian Partners
In addition to the information provided in the Georgia Bicycle and Pedestrian Safety Center, GOHS recommends visiting the following partners as additional sources of material.
Through education, enforcement, and outreach, NHTSA's pedestrian safety programs are directed toward reducing pedestrian injuries and fatalities, improving the safety of elderly pedestrians, and reaching diverse communities.
In addition, NHTSA encourages bicycling as an alternate mode of transportation to motor vehicle travel. NHTSA works with partners to reduce injuries and fatalities through education, enforcement, outreach, and legislative efforts.
