Traffic enforcement has been documented to be one of the most effective methods in preventing traffic crashes and saving lives. Traffic safety laws are enacted to protect all who use the road and the enforcement of them ensures that all roadway users are traveling in a safe and legal manner. The Governor’s Office of Highway Safety provides resources through High Visibility Enforcement (HVE) and Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic (H.E.A.T.) grants to state and local law enforcement agencies. These agencies partner with GOHS for enforcement mobilizations such “Operation Zero Tolerance”, “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” and “Operation Southern Shield”.
