Driver lost control, illegal or unsafe speed, wrong side of road and failure to yield were the leading contributing factors to fatal crashes.

Following too closely and failure to yield were the leading factors in overall crashes.

Crash rates for fatal crashes by contributing factors indicate that none of the most important contributing factors show a consistently increasing or decreasing trend.
