GOVERNOR'S
OFFICE OF HIGHWAY SAFETY--GEORGIA The Governor's Office of Highway Safety in Georgia recently completed a two-day training workshop in Macon and Kennesaw for both current grantees as well as groups interested in becoming grantees. Among the topics discussed include the proper way to create monthly reports detailing the progress of a particular campaign, the evaluation process, on-site monitoring, financial reporting, and claims. Such workshops are important to hold because they help both GOHS and the grantees establish a consistency and continuity in goals and in needs. For the GOHS planners and staff, these meetings help to fine tune the grant process, making it both more user friendly and effective. For the grantees, these meetings lay out the framework from which they will be expected to work from in the upcoming weeks, months, and years. But, perhaps the best reason for these workshops is the fact that it is a chance for Georgia's safety professionals to all get together for the common goal of making Georgia a healthier and happier place to live. Below are some photographs from both sessions of the 2004 Workshops. For a larger image, click on the individual photos. |
