Georgia FACES--Fatalities Are Crashes Ending Smiles......

Each year, Georgia loses over a thousand people to crash deaths on its roads and highways. While such a large number is tragic and incomprehensible in the abstract, one almost loses sight of the fact that each person who dies on the road is an individual with a special and individual life and with a loving and grieving family and circle of friends. The Governor's Office of Highway Safety in Georgia has created Georgia FACES (Fatalities Are Crashes Ending Smiles), an online memorial to Georgia crash victims, as a way to remember all special individuals lost and to remind everyone of the importance of driver safety to help eliminate future tragedies.

WHAT EXACTLY IS GEORGIA FACES?

Georgia FACES will be a constantly update online memorial consisting of pictures of Geiorgia crash victims sent in by relatives, families, or friends. An example would be:

Jane Smith
Date of Crash: January 12, 2006
Age: 25
Home: Atlanta, Georgia
Crash Location: I-285 near Memorial Drive

GOHS's goal is to show all that a crash victim is not just a statistic. That's why we request the smiling face of a loved one.
