GOHS Director Bob Dallas shoots ad for the Inspector General's Office....

Recently, GOHS Director Bob Dallas shot an ad praising the efforts of the Inspector General's Office of Georgia to help state agencies improve efficiency in a fair and honest manner.

The Office of the State Inspector General (OIG) was created to strengthen the trust between the citizens of Georgia and their public officials. OIG strives to uncover fraud, waste, abuse, or other compromising situations by taking an active approach in investigating complaints about state departments and agencies. Their goal is to produce a more efficient, cost-effective and trustworthy government entity.

"The Inspector General's Office has helped GOHS by showing us the boundaries and work rules needed to make us a successful agency.  By doing so, it has freed us creatively by helping to eliminate fear that confusion and uncertainty in the rules can sometimes cause."--GOHS Director Bob Dallas

Sample Editorials for Safety Professionals....

(From GOHS Deputy Director Robert Mikell)

Dear Friends,

As we approach Monday's kick-off of Click It or Ticket and the 100 Days of Summer HEAT, we are continuing our efforts to raise awareness statewide about buckling, driving sober, and slowing down.   Attached you will find a sample editorial outlining the need for these campaigns and our conglomerate efforts to save lives on Georgia's roadways.  Please consider customizing this editorial, or creating your own from scratch, and submitting it to your local media outlets, websites, high school newspapers, employer newsletters, etc.  If possible, include in the release any of the activities that you and/or your local highway safety stakeholders plan to undertake this summer.  Have the editorial printed under your name or your organization's name, and consider including your photo and any personal stories or other firsthand experience you have with the consequences of vehicle crashes.  Please send any printed copies to us with your monthly reports so that we may document everyone's efforts to save lives.  Finally, thanks go to Gary Butler for creating the sample editorial.

Thank you for your partnership,

Rob Mikell, GOHS Deputy Director
