On Saturday, April 25th, hundreds of students from across the metro Atlanta area joined together at Gwinnett Arena and Convention Center for the 2009 Ford Driving Skills for Life Safety Fair. Following the music set down by a top local D.J., students learned all about the proper way to drive using a closed test driving course with vehicles provided by local Ford dealerships. Other interesting activities included a Roll-Over simulator which showed what happens when a driver or passenger refuses to buckle up during a crash, DUI test go-carts and golf carts, Allstate Guitar Hero for Safety, DUI Goggle simulator, the Operation Lifesaver trailer, the NO-ZONE trailer, and information from highway safety groups from across Georgia and the country.
Special thanks goes out to the Ford Motor Company for its initial sponsorship and all the law enforcement and highway safety personnnel who helped volunteer for this important event.
